We are now hiring salon assistants for The Higher Foundation Salon! Higher Stylists assist the Lead Stylist with client services and salon cleanliness for The Higher Foundation Salon program. The Higher Foundation Salon promotes confidence in the classroom by providing accessible haircare to Georgia K-12 students. We offer both free and affordable haircare services to Georgia K-12 and educators at our partner salon, Lux Studio Salon Suites. What will Higher Stylists do?
- Shampoo & Condition
- Blow Dry (hand blow dryer and assist clients with a hooded dryer)
- Prepare braiding hair racks (2 packs of hair per client)
- Clean the shampoo station and suite before, during, and after each appointment
- Capture photo and video content of the salon experience to promote our program.
- Assist the lead stylists with braiding down and adding finishing touches to the braid style
- Other tasks as assigned according to the stylist’s skillset and the client’s needs.
How does the schedule and compensation work?
- Higher Stylists will be on call, and we will reach out to the team of Higher Stylists when we need salon assistance. Our affordable services are offered every Saturday with the exception of holidays, and our free appointment availability varies by the demand and request of the clients.
- Higher Stylists will receive a stipend for the shifts they complete. We offer half-days (4 hours with a 15-min break) and full days (8 hours with a 30-minute break). The half-day rate is $60, and the full-day rate is $120. The Higher Stylist will receive their stipend the following week on Fridays via Zelle. Higher Stylists are considered contractors and will have to sign a contract with us before their first shift.
Higher Stylists are responsible for arriving on time, presenting themselves in a professional manner, serving our clients with patience and respect, and completing the salon tasks as assigned. If Higher Stylists fail to meet our outlined expectations, they will be discharged.
