The Higher Foundation Fund promotes sustainable funding for our organization through a cash reserves account and an endowment fund. We encourage Higher Supporters to give $5,000.00 or more as investments. Your investments will help us maintain our operation costs and perpetually fund our financial assistance programs.

Since inception in May 2018, we have awarded nearly $40,000 in 229 grants and 17 scholarships to Georgia college students. Since Spring 2025, our grants and scholarships have been paused while we restructured our funding model. With The Higher Foundation Fund, we will use an annual disbursement up to 5% to cover our annual grant and scholarship awards. This new funding model will guarantee long-term funding for our financial assistance programs.

We will partner with Infinite Giving for The Higher Foundation Fund. They offer the following:

• Short-term cash reserve options (funds needed in less than 1 year):
  • Vanguard Federal money market (VMFXX): currently 3.61% 7 day SEC yield
  • 13 week treasury bills: 3.823% investment rate as of 8/10/26 – fully US government backed
• Mid-term options (funds needed in 1-3 years):
  • Diversified Fixed Income Portfolio: 1 yr; 2 yr analysis & portfolio insights; forward looking 12 mo yield from Morningstar is 4.72% as of July 31, 2026
  • 40/60 Portfolio: a conservative option at 60% bonds that still gives some stock exposure beyond a straight bond portfolio; 1 yr/10 yr analysis & portfolio insights
• Endowment options (funds not needed for at least 3+ years):
  • 60/40 Prudent Growth Portfolio: often used as a slightly more conservative option for long-term growth & endowments; 1 yr/10 yr analysis & portfolio insights
  • 70/30 Moderate Growth Portfolio: most popular long-term growth portfolio including for endowments; 1 yr/10 yr analysis & portfolio insights
  • 80/20 Aggressive Growth Portfolio: our more aggressive portfolio with 80% stock exposure; 1 yr/10 yr analysis & portfolio insights

Donors may invest $5,000.00 USD or more via debit/credit cards, ACH, Apple Pay/Google Pay, stock, and cryptocurrencies.  Once we raise a minimum of $10,000, we will create our fund and build it for the reopening of our grant and scholarship programs.
